Cut Paper Design
The purpose of this activity is to introduce students to underlying concepts that would otherwise be learned through Adobe Photoshop. In doing so, students will learn how to sketch an idea, layout a design, select an object by cutting paper, overlap and crop by using layers of paper and to manipulate the papers size, shape and proportion, to create a sophisticated 2-dimensional design.
We will investigate the artwork of artist Megan Coyle and other collage artists as inspiration to create our own LAYERED, FOOD collages. Layered foods may include but are not limited to
burgers (buns, lettuce, burger, lettuce, cheese, tomato, ketchup, bun etc)
pizza (crust, cheese, tomatoes, mushrooms, pepperoni, sauce, cheese and etc.)
sandwiches (bread, protein, vegetables, cheese, condiments, bread etc.)
